Cornworthy Playgroup Scarecrow

From : Nicky - AONB

At the beginning of July 2010, the children from Cornworthy playgroup helped Nicky to make a scarecrow to enter into the village scarecrow competition.

The children named the Scarecrow 'Oakley' and he took pride of placeĀ up in the branches of the 400 year old Oak tree, which standsĀ in the centre of the small Village Green.

This work was part of a larger project to celebrate the new village green, which involved many different groups and people within the village - have a look for our other page on the Cornworthy Celebration Day.
