GoldenDays Scrapbook Terms & Conditions

This information explains how South Devon AONB Unit uses the information you give to us, and the ways in which we protect your privacy.

We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Under the Act, we have a legal duty to protect any information we collect from you.

About your contact details
The AONB unit team may use the contact details you give us to follow up your contribution, query or comments. The AONB office will store your name and contact details. We may also contact you from time to time to tell you about what’s going on in the AONB.

We will not disclose your contact details to any third parties. If you do not wish to hear from the AONB please e-mail enquiries@southdevonaonb.org.uk or telephone the office on 01803 861384.

About the title, location, story and digital content you send to us
By sending digital material to the GoldenDays website you agree that the South Devon AONB may publish and use it on the internet, and in our publicity, to further the aims of the national AONB family (National Association of AONBs). Anything you send to us remains your own copyright.

We may edit the material you send. We will do this in a way which respects the original piece, the author and any people mentioned in it.

Please only send us things which belong to you or your organisation or family’s private collection. If you’re planning to make oral history recordings you’ll need the interviewee’s signed permission. If you’re not sure get in touch and we’ll try to help.

Things we won’t publish
Please do not use the GoldenDays ADD TO SCAPBOOK form send any material which you wish to keep private, or which is not legally yours to share. We can’t reproduce pictures scanned from published sources like books or newspapers.

Obviously we won’t publish anything which is illegal, unreasonable or inappropriate, such as local gossip which shows someone living (or indeed recently dead) in a negative light.

We reserve the right not to publish material which is sent in. This might be for example where it is very similar to other contributions, not relevant to the AONB or outside our 50th Anniversary focus on living memory, then and now.

Information we collect to analyse visits to the GoldenDays website
We use a programme called ‘Google Analytics’. This helps us create a picture of how the website is used. For example it tells us how many people are visiting the GoldenDays website, which pages they visit most and where the computers they are on are located.

When you visit this website, your IP address, browser and version, operating system and the site you came from may be stored in a log file. This information is only used for statistical purposes to help improve this site. Log files do not contain any personal information. We do not use cookies for collecting personal information.
We may share this non-personal statistical or summary information with organisations working in partnership with us.
