Life and landscape No.5: Our AONB

Across the AONB

Listen in

Home to people from all walks of life, and special to generations of visitors, the South Devon AONB means different things to different people. Listen in to hear from a few of us.

Life and landscape series

This programme is part five of a series, ‘Life and landscape in the South Devon AONB.’ The series captures the story of changing times since the 1960s. The story is told in the voices of local people who live or work in the AONB, including farmers, fishermen, scientists, artists and local historians. 'Part 5: Our AONB' was first broadcast on Saturday 30 April 2011. It lasts for half an hour.

Recording fieldwork

To make these programmes the AONB teamed up with Soundart 102.5fm, the licensed community radio station for Totnes and the surrounding villages: www.soundartradio.org.uk

Artist and photographer David Harbott documented the recording fieldwork. His subtle portraits of people interviewed add greatly to the archive. "Here's one of my  favorites; Jade Bartlett, of Orchard Link" says Sarah, 50th Anniversary Project Officer.
