Brixton Birds

From : Sam at the AONB

Children from Brixton Primary school worked with Nicky from the AONB team on a Birds and Habitat project during February and March this year. All the classes spent one morning learning about the life cycle of birds, building nests and finding food. The children then spent further sessions creating some brilliant bird-inspired artwork.

Foundation made fantastic nest box cards complete with fledglings! Class 2 made an amazing hedge wall hanging full of birds and hand painted leaves. Class 3 selected photos of birds which they copied using pastels. The final pictures were beautiful and took pride of place at our end of year showcase exhibition at The Flavel Arts Centre in Dartmouth.

A big thank you to all the children for their hard work!
