Young Farmers having fun

Across the AONB

From : Sarah at the AONB

In one of our final projects for the 50th Anniversay celebrations, we're working with a group of Young Farmers from across South Devon. On 20 July we visited the Soundart Radio studios for some training. The evening began soon afer 7pm. By 10 o'clock we were live on air, broadcasting an improvised spoof drama of everyday folk in Slapton Flemming, complete with recorded sound effects and the Worzels 2001 tractor remix!

It was great fun and we all learned a lot about community radio too. With a bit more help from Lucinda and colleagues at Soundart Radio the Young Farmers will be making a second radio piece centred on Totnes Agricultural Show on 31 July. Big thanks to the South Dartmoor Young Farmers for their enthusiasm to try something new.

p.s.

I took theseĀ pics on a mobile phone, some in the dark radio studio during the live broadcast. They're not great photos but they'll give you a feel for the evening! Sarah
